The module provides students with essential tools for studies in engineering, such as communication skills, professionalism and ethics, and prepares them for internships and future employment by helping them develop a range of skills necessary for the role of a professional engineer. Through a focus in three main areas (academic success, career development, and engineering ethics), this module introduces them to the key elements of success for professional engineering students. Students will learn how to successfully learn and study, to manage time and stress, to set goals and develop their academic track, to build a resume that will lead to an internship or research position, and to navigate both practical and theoretical ethical challenges common to engineering. Students will also be introduced to generic techniques for managing projects and designing experimental work in an engineering context.
